Jan W. made a motion that prior (after 5 PM) to the business meeting at 7 PM on the 2nd Thursday of each month, members get together for a sack supper, quilting and socializing. Anne seconded the motion.

Discussed was whether or not the by-laws would need to be amended to include this. Current by-laws state that there is a monthly meeting, run according to Robert’s Rules of Order. The proposed motion would allow for the business meeting to be called to order at 7 PM. Many times only a very brief business meeting is needed, and then activities could resume.

Tips: Eliminate some hand sewing by adding a sleeve to the back of the quilt at the same time as the binding. Cut an 8” piece of fabric the same width as the quilt, hem the ends, and press in half with the wrong sides together. Pin the strip at the top of the back of the quilt, matching the raw edges of the sleeve with the raw edge of the quilt, and add the binding. Tack the bottom edge of the sleeve to the back of the quilt by hand.
